Before you call
- Have your farm records handy: last year’s tax return, acres or head counts, and any program or policy numbers.
- Many programs have a yearly enrolment or claim deadline. Note it in your calendar as soon as you find it.
- Ask for service in English or French: federal programs are offered in both official languages.
- Write down who you spoke to and when. It saves time if you need to call back.
Farm stress is real
If things feel too heavy, talk to someone. In Canada you can call or text 9-8-8 any time, day or night, in English or French.
